Whats the difference between christian dating and everybody else?

From what i’ve seen, nothing. But i know its not right. I need some help here.

I think there seems to be no difference, but there should be. Christian dating should be where you respect one another as brothers and sisters in the Lord and should be for deciding whether you two would be right together in a marital relationship. Non Christian dating is for the moment, no real strings are attached. Most people date for fun but not for a real commitment. In non christian dating, instead of looking out for the other person, you are looking out solely for your own selfish interests as to what you can get out of this relationship, not how you can build a person up. In Christian dating, you are trying to get to know the person on the "who they are down deep" level, spiritual level (what are their views on God, what denomination are they, what is their favorite scripture, do they have quiet times with God, do they have Christian friends…), and to a lesser extent the physical level. The physical level is where in my belief that a Christian dating relationship should be vastly different from non christian. A Christian should realize that they do not own their partner and that their partner is someone else’s wife or husband. Therefore, at the most, a kiss is all that once should get out of Christian dating other than hand holding. In non christian dating, it seems that everyone is having sex without views for the ramifications both spiritually, emotionally, and the threat of disease. It is true that many Christians are dating like those who are in the world which may be why you have yet to find a difference between the two types of dating. best of luck.

christian dating is establishing a relationship that is built on the principles of scripture. forming a relationship that honors God and not yourself. If you are a christian, you already know the answer to this, the hard part is following through with it.

Actually, Christian dating is dating on a whole different level: a spiritual level. Both of you should have a relationship with Jesus, #1 priority.

Dating is getting to know somebody on a friendship level, with the hopes or possibility of getting married later.

Both of you should be comfortable praying with each other. Try serving together on a ministry team. That is a great way to see each other in "action for the Lord".

The thing that drew me to my husband is his heart for God. He is warm, sensitive, and gives his whole heart to God everyday.

You need to write down a list of what you want in a spouse. Ask God to bless this, and ask for His direction in dating. You’ll see how He will lead you along. Don’t lost sight of Jesus in the process. A relationship with Jesus in the center is the most initmate relationship anyone can ever experience!!! (I know, I have one!)

(Careful, I have dated a few guys who "pretended" to be Christian to get a "pure" girl. Lookout for those guys!!)

    Good luck and God bless
